CampusCycle - Sunday, February 17, 2019. 2 pm (please arrive 15 minutes early to adjust your bike)

Exercise your giving heart and register for this high energy, beat-driven spin class at Ames' new studio, CampusCycle.  Campus Cycle is owned by Lyndsey Fennelly (former Iowa State Women's Basketball player and daughter-in-law of Coach Fennelly, the Iowa State Women's Basketball head coach) and Kelsie Carper (former Iowa State Women's Basketball player).  Led by a certified CampusCycle coach, 20 lucky riders will experience 45 minutes of reflection, sweat, and smiles, followed by post-workout refreshments and healthy snacks.  Cyclists of all ages and skill levels welcome.  Ride Fast, Ride Strong, Ride Fun!

Farm Experience - February 23rd, 2019 9:30AM

Get on your boots and grubby clothes and visit the Finch Farm during calving season!  On March 2nd, 2019, your child can enjoy this experience on the Finch Farm south of Ames.  Children will have the opportunity to see cows during the calving season, take a ride in a tractor, and enjoy some snacks in the barn.  Only 6 children per session so sign up fast!  Parents are encouraged to accompany their child for this fun adventure!

First Strike Tennis Event - Sunday, March 10th, 2019   1PM, 2PM, 3PM

Join USPTA Elite Professional, USTA High Performance Coach Jim Huneke (jimh@amesfitness.com) of First Strike Tennis Academy for an hour-long lesson on March 10th, 2019.  There are three session times divided by age.    

Jim brings his year of coaching experience to the new tennis bubble at the Ames Racquet and Fitness located 3600 University Blvd in Ames.  Recently, Jim has coached many of the top local tennis athletes to winning state and regional tennis championships.

Attendees can expect an hour-long group lesson with snacks and water.  If you have a racquet please bring it, but it’s not required.

Cellar 626 Party - Wednesday April 3, 2019    7:00PM-8:30PM CST

Join wine connoisseur, Roger Esser, for a 90 minute wine tasting at Cellar 626, a local speakeasy in the back of Ames' iconic Cyclone Liquors (626 Lincoln Way) on Wednesday, April 3, at 7 pm.  The tasting includes a short informal presentation followed by a sampling of a variety of wines.  Roger's classes welcome experienced and beginner tasters alike-- each class is a unique opportunity to experience new wines and develop your wine palate.

Cinco De Mayo Party - Friday, May 3rd, 2019 6PM 

Fiesta like there's no manana!!  The Gala Co-Chairs invite you to Ames Golf and Country Club to celebrate Cinco De Mayo. Join your friends for a noche fantastico complete with tequila tasting, which will include Don Julio 1942, and delicious mexican food from the Country Club.  Enjoy delicious beef and chicken fajitas, chips with salsa, queso, and guacamole, and churros with chocolate dipping sauce for dessert!

Ladies Golf with Christie Martens - May 28th (Tuesday)

Ladies, interested in brushing up on your golf basics or lowering your golf score?  This clinic, held on Tuesday, May 28, is 'fore' you!  Twelve lucky women will get 90 minutes of hands-on instruction from ISU Women's Golf Head Coach (and Saint Cecilia Mom), Christie Martens.  Attendees will have the rare opportunity to utilize Iowa State University's state-of-the-art Golf Performance Center as they gather expert tips and test their skills on all the different parts of the game: Grip, Stance, Setup, Iron Play, Driving, Chipping, Pitching, & Putting.  After working up an appetite, golfers will enjoy a catered box luncheon compliments of The Cafe!
